About
I’ve been a licensed psychologist in Canada since 2011. The moment I took my first psychology course in university I was hooked on learning everything I could about the brain. During my summers I worked as an intern at a counselling clinic and I quickly discovered my passion for working with people to improve their lives. In 2007, I received my master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Marriage and Family Counselling at Azusa Pacific University in Orange County California. From there I worked at a counselling centre, counselling individuals, children, and families and running various groups on attachment, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, positive discipline and children of divorce. I also worked at an autism clinic helping children with disabilities with daily living skills, social skills and behavioural concerns. In 2010, I became a Board-Certified Behavioural Analysis (BCBA). In 2011 my husband and I moved to Calgary Alberta, where I joined a team of counsellors at the Calgary Counselling Centre. Here I worked with individuals, children, and families with a variety of concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, domestic violence and self-esteem. In 2014 I joined the Calgary Board of Education helping students with ADHD, Autism, ODD, anxiety, trauma and depression.
I utilize evidence-based practices to ensure the best possible results. I have training in various treatment modalities like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PTSD), Motivational Interviewing, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Play Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.
